Zagat names two DFW burgers as best in America.


Among stalwarts like New York City’s Minetta Tavern and Chicago’s Kuma’s Corner, Zagat singled out Dallas’ The Grape and Dugg Burger as two of the 30 best burgers in the entire country. Of The Grape’s classic cheeseburger, Zagat writes: “Available only two days a week at Brian and Courtney Luscher's Lower Greenville American bistro, this longtime Big D favorite always wows diners (get it only during Sunday brunch and dinner on Sunday and Monday nights) and is totally worth scheduling, though, thanks to the divine combination of a belt-busting 10-oz. freshly ground beef patty, housemade peppered bacon, Vermont white cheddar, Nathan's horseradish half-sour pickles and Dijonnaise on a soft, toasty pain au lait bun.” Read more: Zagat The 30 Best Burgers in America:

April 17, 2015. Introducing the burger lover's ultimate bucket list, from classic iterations to the best bistro burgers. For Eater's 2015 Burger Week foray into an essential burger guide, Eater's city editors considered both ends of the burger spectrum, focusing specifically on beef hamburgers in all varieties of styles. Guiding the journey are Eater's in-house burger experts: restaurant editor Bill Addison and Eater NY senior editor/host of Eater's upcoming The Meat Show Nick Solares, both avowed burger fans representing the different ends of the classic-to-bistro spectrum. According to Eater Dallas editor Whitney Filloon, "the Grape's burger is a pretty straightforward creation, but every element is masterfully executed — from the thick, juicy patty and the toasty, locally-baked bun to the perfectly melted white cheddar, house-made peppered bacon, and tangy dijonnaise, plus the pristine lettuce and tomato (and the side of killer frites)." Best brunch in Dallas-Fort Worth?


Chef-owner Brian Luscher throws out some different but delicious ideas for brunch: Light blueberry cornmeal griddle cakes with a hint of crunch; pan-fried trout with fried eggs and a frisee salad; cinnamon roll "pull-a-parts" with pecans and caramel; and, for folks with simple tastes, a mean bacon cheeseburger. The Grape's covered patio suits the brunch mood perfectly.
